Project name: Medicago truncatula

Description: M. truncatula EST sequencing project was started at the Center for Medicago Genomics Research which was created at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation with an aim to do large scale EST and genome sequencing, and functional analysis of M. truncatula genome. National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR) and the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (VBI) helped with the bioinformatics part of the project. An EST sequence database, MGI, is available as a result of this collabrative effort. Functional Genomics part of the project was funded by an NSF grantGenoscope has sequenced ESTs from three cDNA libraries derived from young root nodules.
