Project name: Maridesulfovibrio hydrothermalis AM13 = DSM 14728
Description: Desulfovibrio hydrothermalis AM13T is a mesophilic, hydrogenotrophic, sulfate-reducing bacterium isolated from a deep-sea hydrothermal chimney sample collected at 13° N on the East-Pacific Rise at a depth of 2600 m. D. hydrothermalis is piezophilic, having an optimal growth at 25 MPa. Here we report the complete genome sequence of strain AM13, the type strain of D. hydrothermalis. The genome sequence is 3,702,934 bp lengh, with a G+C content of 45,14%. Moreover, the genome includes a circular plasmid of 5,328 bp. The genome reveals a view of the adaptation strategy to life in the depth in Desulfovibrio.
