Description: We report the draft genome sequences of two Elisabethkingia anophelis associated to fatal meningitis. The characteristics of the patients and the numerous antibiotic resistance genes present in the genomes of E. anophelis explain the difficulties faced in treating human infections. E. anophelis together with E. meningoseptoca is the only known bacteria with two metallo-beta-lactamase genes, providing a gene reservoir for emergent carbapenem resistance.
