Project name: Cotesia vestalis
Description: A whole genome (240 Mb) of an endoparasitoid wasp, Cotesia plutellae, was sequenced with 150 x coverage and annotated in its encoded genes. A total of 13,000 genes are compared with those of Apis mellifera and Nasonia vitripennis. Parasitism-associated genes are specifically distinct in C. plutellae. The parasitic genes are clustered into polydnaviral macroloci as well as scattered venom and teratocyte genes.
