Description: The Glossina morsitans morsitans genome is being sequenced by the International Glossina Genomics Initiative. The whole genome shotgun assembly is based on a combination of Sanger, 454, and Illumina reads at a depth of 4x, 10x, and 60x, respectively. Flies were provided by Prof. Serap Aksoy, Aksoy Laboratory EPH, Yale School of Medicine.
