Project name: Entamoeba histolytica
Description: Entamoeba histolytica is a causative agent of amebiasis. Disease state of amebiasis varies from asymptomatic to intestinal and extra-intestinal diseases. It is considered that there are factor that define the symptom, however, the molecular basis is not well understood. To approach this question, we conducted a comparative genomic analysis of two Japanese clinical isolates from asymptomatic and diarrheal disease patients. We found two genomic regions which are deleted in asymptomatic strain.
