Project name: Lactiplantibacillus plantarum ST-III
Description: RNA-seq was used to investigate the changes in gene transcription levels of Lactobacillus plantarum ST-III cultured in chemically defined medium with 2% NaCl, 6% NaCl, without salt and with or without betaine. The expression level of genes encoding inorganic ion transport, amino acid transport, carbohydrate transport, transcription, cell wall and membrane biogenesis, replication, recombination, and repair changed significantly in the presence of salt. The result provides a global view to understand the response of L. plantarum ST-III to salt. And betaine plays important roles in protecting L. plantarum ST-III against salt stress.
