Description: This report describes a draft genome sequence of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum NMZ-1139, isolated from mash of whisky and applied to sour ale production. The reads generated by a whole-genome shotgun (WGS) strategy on an Illumina MiSeq sequencer were assembled into contigs with a total size of 3,335,484 bp. The draft genome sequence of L. plantarum NMZ-1139 will be useful for understanding the mechanisms of its fermentation.
