Project name: Hippotion velox
Description: This study first reports the high - quality genome map of Hippotion velox in the genus Hippotion of the family Sphingidae. Using third - generation sequencing and the canu error - correction assembly strategy, the genome size was determined to be 816.16 Mb (contig N50 = 46,412 bp). BUSCO assessment showed 96.8% of conservative insect genes were intact, indicating a highly complete assembly. Repeated sequences accounted for 34.04% of the genome, with unclassified ones making up 15.91%, suggesting many species - specific repeats. Notably, SINEs and LINEs transposons were most abundant, at 16.7% of the total genome, which may indicate unique transposon evolution events in this species. By integrating transcriptomics, homology prediction, and de novo prediction, 16,868 protein - coding genes were annotated, with an average of 4.09 exons. This study offers key resources for researching the adaptive evolution, repeat sequence dynamics, and comparative genomics of Lepidoptera in H. velox.
