The Organism database provides more than two million species information retrieval. Original data source of Organism database includes the NCBI Taxonomy. The main available information includes the scientific name of species or related nomenclature, lineage information, and other sub resources associated with the species, etc.

Data source
Original data source of taxonomy database includes the NCBI Taxonomy. CNGBdb acquires public data from NCBI Taxonomy via FTP. All data obtained from FTP are parsed and integrated according to certain meta-information structure, and displayed on the page in order to provide search, retrieval and download services for users. Every organism record (e.g. https://db.cngb.org/data_resources/organism/27902407/) includes the original source ID which can be clicked to the NCBI Taxonomy details page.
CNGBdb complies with the data usage agreement and related requirements of these source databases. If you have any question about the above methods of data references or think that the data references are not reasonable, please contact CNGBdb@cngb.org.
