DIMT1 DIM1 rRNA methyltransferase and ribosome maturation factor [ Homo sapiens (human) ]
Source: NCBI Gene (ID 27292)
Symbol: DIMT1
Full name: DIM1 rRNA methyltransferase and ribosome maturation factor
Gene type: protein coding
RefSeq status: REVIEWED
Organism: Homo sapiens
Also known as: DIM1; DIMT1L; HSA9761; HUSSY5
Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a methyltransferase that is responsible for dimethylation of adjacent adenosines near the 18S rRNA decoding site. The encoded protein is essential for ribosome biogenesis, although its catalytic activity is not involved in the process. The yeast ortholog of this protein functions in the cytoplasm while this protein functions in the nucleus. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]
Expression: Ubiquitous expression in urinary bladder (RPKM 12.5), lymph node (RPKM 11.7) and 25 other tissues
Orthologs: mouse
Gene size: 16652bp
Exon count: 13
