Source: NCBI Gene (ID 11676)
Source: NCBI Gene (ID 11676)
Symbol: Aldoc
Full name: aldolase C, fructose-bisphosphate
Gene type: protein coding
RefSeq status: REVIEWED
Organism: Mus musculus
Also known as: Aldo3; Scrg2
Summary: This gene encodes a member of the aldolase family of enzymes that is mainly expressed in neuronal tissues. The encoded protein is an enzyme of the glycolysis pathway, and catalyzes the conversion of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate to glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Alternate splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]
Expression: Biased expression in cerebellum adult (RPKM 424.1), cortex adult (RPKM 249.9) and 4 other tissues
Orthologs: human
Gene size: 4709bp
Exon count: 9
