Comprehensive breeding information platform

Promote the digitization of agricultural genetic resources, establish a big data public platform for animal and plant germplasm resources, and cooperate with the national gene bank to establish a triad core germplasm gene bank based on the germplasm resource bank, in order to improve molecular breeding efficiency and increase germplasm Resource and data sharing efforts, to win the "seed industry turnaround", provide basic support, establish a leading domestic and foreign big data platform for crop genetic resources information, and truly turn stock genetic resources into public products.

China National GeneBank DataBase (CNGBdb)

China National GeneBank DataBase (CNGBdb) is a unified platform built for biological big data sharing and application services to the research community. Based on the big data and cloud computing technologies, it provides data services such as archive, analysis, knowledge search, management authorization, and visualization. At present, CNGBdb has integrated large amounts of internal and external molecular data and other information from CNGB, NCBI, EBI, DDBJ, etc., indexed by search, covering 10 data structures. Moreover, CNGBdb correlates living sources, biological samples and bioinformatic data to realize the traceability of comprehensive data.

CNGB E-BioBank (EBB)

CNGB E-BioBank (EBB) is dedicated to building a bridge between bio-sample holders and users by sharing large collections of bio-sample information as well as a continuously-updated catalogue of biobanks. Through the platform users can get access to resources of CNGB and our partner biobanks at home and abroad.

CNGB Biological Resource Center of Plants, Animals and Micro-organisms (BRC-PAM )

CNGB Biological Resource Center of Plants, Animals and Micro-organisms (BRC-PAM) could share and distribute various biological materials including animal cell lines, plant seeds, microbial strains and associated genomic data. Besides, the Biological Resource Center of China National GeneBank could provide standardized technical services including animal cell culture and testing, plant resource collection and identification, high-throughput culturomics and identification.

1. Animal Cell Bank

   Animal Cell Bank (ACB) is committed to cryopreserving cell cultures originated from different tissues of the animals and acquiring their genomic information as well. ACB have cooperated with many institutes and constructed a pipeline for the isolation, in vitro culture, testing and long-term storage of the animal cells. ACB is also a non-profit platform that provides various services for cell culture, testing and collection deposit.

2. Bank of Plant Resource

   Bank of Plant Resource (BPR) has built a standardized system to collect, preserve and identify plant resources. BPR has a secure seed bank that is capable of storing nearly 100,000 seed samples under a relatively steady state. Till now, the bank has conserved over 10,000 plant seed materials for a large diversity of plants and stores more than 20,000 voucher specimens and leaf samples that could be applied in the future research.

3. China National GeneBank Culture Collection

   China National GeneBank Culture Collection (CNGBCC) is dedicated to the collection, preservation, supply and utilization of microbial resources. CNGBCC hosts a unique stock of Chinese human symbiotic microorganisms and related genomic data. As a member of World Data Center for Microorganisms (No. WDCM 1199), CNGBCC could provide microbial strains as well as technical services including culturomics, identification and preservation for researchers worldwide.
