Project name: Prunus persica x Prunus persica var. nucipersica

Description: A mapping population of 207 F2 individuals was prepared by crossing 'Fejalou Jalousia', a clingstone flat peach, with 'Fantasia', a freestone round nectarine. The population was prepared in two stages. 63 individuals were planted in 1993 and were used to prepare a map in 1996. 144 additional individuals were planted in 2000. In 2002 each of the F2 individuals were grafted to synchronize the trees for QTL detection and planted in an orchard in 2003.
