Description: Mikania micrantha is a highly destructive invasive plant causing major ecological and economic damage. While research has studied its growth and control, the role of its flavonoids in soil microbes has been less explored. Our study shows that flavonoids from M. micrantha's roots help beneficial soil microbes grow, improve nitrogen cycling, and increase nutrient availability, which aids the plant's invasion. Understanding these flavonoid effects could lead to new ways to reduce M. micrantha's negative impacts, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly management strategy based on plant-microbe interactions.
