The first cell transcriptomic atlas of the non-human primate Macaca fascicularis was published in Nature on April 13, 2022. This atlas will make contributions to human disease diagnosis and drug development.

The corresponding database, Non-Human Primate Cell Atlas (NHPCA), was released on China National GeneBank (CNGB). NHPCA provides visualization and analysis of transcriptomic and forthcoming epigenetic single-cell data sampled from NHP organs or tissues.

These works were led by Shenzhen BGI-research, with the participation of CNGB and other international research institutes.
