Africa's orphan crops are rich in diverse genetic resources. They are one of the food, nutrition and economic sources of people in many countries and regions in Africa. However, due to their low yield, low research and insufficient overall promotion, they are often ignored by local people. This study, by sequencing five African orphan crops, to find genes that improve crop nutrition and productivity, lays the foundation for further improvement of crop germplasm, and also provides important guidance for improving the nutrition and food safety of local residents.
