    Extreme Microbiome Project 8040 0

    2020-10-16

    Creator: zhuzm@njtech.edu.cn

Extremophiles represent the diversity of life's adaptation to the environment and its possible scope, and there are of great significance for exploring the origin of life, the evolution of life, or extraterrestrial life. Carrying out research on extremophiles is of extremely important scientific significance for revealing the mystery of the origin of the biosphere, clarifying the formation mechanism of biodiversity, and understanding the limits of life and the law of interaction with the environment. In addition, the enzymes and metabolites produced by extremophiles have become one of the sources of innovation. The establishment of the extreme microbiome project aims to reveal the metabolic processes of extremophiles and the formation mechanism of metabolites, develop synthetic biology techniques for extremophiles, release the special metabolic pathways contained in the microbiome in extreme environmental systems, and guide the discovery of metabolites, enzymes, and other active substances.
