Project name: Small RNA sequencing of Aspergillus fumigatus
Description: Aspergillus fumigatus is an important human pathogen and a leading fungal killer. This study aimed to determine the small RNA repertoire of A. fumigatus in conidia and mycelium grown for 24 or 48 hours in liquid culture.Overall design: Total RNA was isolated using a Roboklon RNA Isolation kit from Aspergillus fumigatus conidia and mycelium growth in Aspergillus minimal media for 24 or 48 hours. Small RNA was then enriched using a Zymo RNA Clean and Concentrate kit before treatment with NEB RppH enzyme to remove cyclic phosphates and facilitate library prepration. Libraries were prepared using NEB Small RNA Sequencing Library Prepration Kits and 50 nt single end sequencing was performed by Eurofins.
