Description: In this study, we tracked the ecological consequences of soil resident communities after a long-term field trial. Stable long-term annual biogas slurry amendment promoted crop yields while enhancing soil nutrients related to physicochemical and biological properties. Because of the synergistic effects of microbes and nutrients, the soil microbial ecosystem was not resistant to biogas slurry amendments. Nevertheless, the soil resident communities were highly resilient to biogas slurry amendments, as evidenced by community diversity and composition.
