Project name: Lotmaria passim strain:SF
Description: Genome sequencing and assembly of the trypanosomatid Lotmaria passim. Trypanosomatid infecting the european honeybee, Apis mellifera, isolated and grown in culture from a bee in San Francisco in 2009.This organism, a trypanosomatid that infects honey bees, was originally identified as Crithidia mellificae strain SF (Runckel, DeRisi, and Flenniken, PLoS One 2014) and was reclassified and renamed Lotmaria passim strain SF in 2015 (Schwarz, et al. J. Euk. Micro., 2015). This organism is available from ATCC (PRA-403), and its genome and transcriptome are also available for browsing using the Integrated Genome Browser (IGB) (http://bioviz.org/igb/index.html).
