Description: Sequencing these isolates is of high interest to the scientific community, because these isolates were obtained from a highly heavy metal contaminated environment. Molecular analysis as well as the mode of isolation demonstrated the presence and activity of the isolates in their original environment. In addition, no close relatives of these isolates have already been sequenced. Therefore the whole genome sequences of these isolates might be unique and reveal novel enzymes involved in heavy metal resistance and stress response.
