Description: In the haploid asexual stage, this insect pathogen has a cosmopolitan distribution in soil. It infects scarab beetles and other insect hosts to undergo sexual reproduction. Cyclosporin, a cyclic undecapeptide, produced by this fungus has a variety of biological activities including immunosuppressive, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antiparasitic properties.
