Description: In order to elucidate the regulatory role of pneumococcal TCS09, a transcriptomic approach was performed using RNA-seq from bacterial cultures in chemical defined medium of single and double tcs09 mutants. A total of 69 genes presenting significant expression changes were selected for further evaluation and discussion. These 69 genes were classified accordingly to their biochemical function.Overall design: response regulator 09, histidine kinase 09 and a rr09-hk09 mutants were generated in a pneumococcal D39 background. Each individual mutant strain and its wild-type were cultivated in chemically defined medium until mid-log phase and collected for RNA isolation in quadruplicate
