Project name: Aspergillus fumigatus

Description: Increasing amounts of evidence suggest that a certain fraction of patients with severe COVID-19 disease are co-infected with invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, which is caused by Aspergillus fumigatus and a few other species in the genus Aspergillus. To learn more about the genomic characteristics of strains that cause COVID-19 associated pulmonary aspergillosis (CAPA), we have sequenced multiple strains of Aspergillus fumigatus isolated from COVID-19 patients.
