Description: The fungus commonly infect the host via pruning wounds and move through the xylem causing dark reddish-brown to purple to deep-brown or black staining in the xylem. Plane trees in urban areas are more likely to get inffected (increased likelihood of wounding) and symptoms exhibit sparse chlorotic foliage and sometimes sunken, elongated or lens-shaped bark cankers.
