Project name: Epiphyas postvittana strain:Unnamed laboratory strain, approximately G275
Description: mRNA/cDNA from the larval midgut will be sequenced to obtain the transcriptome of Epiphyas postvittana. The larvae of E. postvittana are polyphagous folivores (>250 host plants identified) and are pests on a number of important horticultural crops, including apple, kiwifruit, grapes and walnuts, causing millions of dollars of damage annually. Currently present in many countries, they are quarrantine pests in countries that are fortunate enough to still lack the pest. They are a separate taxon from the other important tortricid pest, Cydia pomonella.
Data type: Transcriptome or Gene expression
