Project name: Panicum virgatum strain:Kanlow

Description: Chloroplast genomes of Panicum virgatum (switchgrass) individual genotypes from the lowland cv. 'Kanlow' and upland cv. 'Summer' were sequenced at the USDA-ARS Western Regional Research Center. Due to conservation of chloroplast genomes in Angiosperms, this was sequenced using a conserved primer, PCR-based approach to an overall error rate of less than 1 error in 10,000 bp. Comparison with upland chloroplast genome indicates polymorphism rate of ~0.001 per nt.
