Project name: Transcriptome of CRPV-induced wart tissues
Description: Cottontail rabbit papillomavirus (CRPV) infection in susceptible animals represents an important model for studying papillomavirus pathogenesis and tumorigenesis. The goal of this project is to determine a comprehensive transcriptome of CRPV-induced wart tissues generated by different routes of infection.Overall design: The New Zealand rabbits with prewounded back skin were infected with CRPV Hershey strain via two routes of infection: a) cutaneuosly by scratching the pre-wounded back skin; b) intravenous injection into ear vein. The medium-size tumors occurred at the pre-wounded back skin area were harvested. The total RNA was isolated using TRIpure Reagent (Roche) and DNase-treated on column using RNeasy kit (Qiagen). Total stranded RNA-seq was performed on Ribo-minus RNA using True-seq kit with 125 bp modality and 100 million reads depth.
