Description: Archey's frog Leiopelma archeyi is a critically endangered frog found only in New Zeeland that is susceptible to chytridiomycosid fungal infections. This species is fully terrestrial with tadpoles developing within gelatinous egg caspules placed under damp vegetation. Archey's frog belongs to the ancient anuran family Leiopelmatidae and retains some characteristics of primitive frogs.
