Project name: Vibrio campbellii strain:20130629003S01
Description: Acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) is a severe shrimp disease that has caused heavy losses to the global shrimp farming industry. AHPND-causing Vibrio parahaemolyticus (VPAHPND) is almost the only known pathogen responsible for the disease. Rare cases of AHPND caused by Vibrio species other than V. parahaemolyticus were reported. Strain 20130629003S01 is the first reported V. campbellii isolate which can cause AHPND. This stain was isolated in June of 2013 from AHPND-affected Litopenaeus vannamei in China and characterized by pirABvp positive. Genome sequencing of 20130629003S01 can provide timely information for better understanding of genomic characteristics of pathogen.
