Description: Anaerobaculum hydrogeniformans ATCC BAA-1850. (Also called Anaerobaculum sp. OS1.)ATCC BAA-1850 was isolated from an anaerobic environmental sample from Alaska. The 16S analysis puts it very close to related Anaerobaculum species isolated from fecal samples and from the oral cavity. This strain was selected because it is muchmore amenable to detailed physiological and biochemical characterizations in the lab.
