Project name: Campylobacter fetus subsp. venerealis bv. intermedius str. 99541
Description: Campylobacter fetus venerealis is the causative agent of Bovine Genital Campylobacteriosis, a sexually transmitted disease with high impact on bovine reproductive performance. Campylobacter fetus venerealis biovar. intermedius strains are characterized by atypical biochemical behavior and are becoming highly prevalent in routine diagnosis. The first complete genome of one of these strains, isolated from a naturally infected bull, will provide valuable information to conduct the design of specific molecular tools and to study the genomic evolution of this organisms.
