Description: The Indian initiative of sequencing Phytophthora was taken up as part of the Outreach Project on Phytophthora, Fusarium, and Ralstonia, funded by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). For this, native isolates of Phytophthora, (Isolate No. 05-06) infecting black pepper was completely sequenced using next generation sequencing platforms, Roche 454 GSFLX+ & Illumina HiSeq™ 2000.
