Description: The goal of this study was to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the nutritional physiology of Microcystis. Cultures of Microcystis aeruginosa (clone LE-3) were grown with low N, low P, high molecular weight dissolved organic matter (HMWDOM), and under ideal conditions while nutrients levels, cellular physiology, and gene expression patterns were assessed using whole transcriptome shotgun sequencing (RNA-seq).
