Description: Sequencing of 1000 fungal genomes to serve as the foundation for a reference database for studies of fungal metagenomics and the fungal metabolome. Selection of target taxa will aim to sample all orders and families of fungi, as well as major ecologies and morphologies, in order to well represent phylogenetic, ecological and functional fungal diversity.
