Description: Ruminal microbiome plays a key role in digestion of cellulosic materials in rumen. Therefore, ruminal microbial metagenomic information is an excellent resource to find novel cellulases.Samples of whole rumen contents were obtained from three 18-month-old Korean black goats, 2 males (A and B) and 1 female (C) that were raised at the National Institute of Animal Science, RDA, Korea, and had been freely fed with only rice straw and mineral supplements for 1 month.
