Project name: Gramella forsetii

Description: Gramella forsetii.This species was isolated from concentrated seawater collected from the German Bight in the North Sea, during a phytoplankton bloom. Surface waters were sampled weekly, and bacteria were grown on agar plates enriched with synthetic seawater medium. Gramella forsetii was isolated from a single colony and grown in liquid culture. It was assigned to the Gramella genus on the basis of 16S rRNA phylogeny.
