Project name: Salmo salar
Description: The aim of this project was to discover Salmo salar (Atlantic salmon) microRNAs empirically and to begin to investigate their functional roles. The objectives were to sequence and characterise a comprehensive microRNA repertoire and to profile a reference expression level in S. salar fry. This discovery and characterisation is a first step to understanding the role of miRNA in regulating gene expression and downstream biological processes in S. salar.
