Project name: Bacillus subtilis S1-4

Description: Bacillus subtile (S1-4) was isolated from the native chicken feathers collected from the local chicken farm at Chengdu, Sichuan, China. This bacterial strain has been demonstrated to degrade chicken feather completely and to produce several proteases extracellularly. This sequencing project was performed for comparable genome analysis and to get insights into the mechanism of keratin degradation.
