Project name: Camellia sinensis
Description: In this project, 454 sequencing of the cDNA library, which was created from the pooled RNA of the unexpanded leaves, expanded young leaves, and mature leaves of tea plant(Camellia sinensis), generated 166.65 Mbp of sequence data, including 437,908 high-quality (HQ) reads. After removal of poly(A/T) and adapter sequences, 410,955 HQ reads remained for assembly. Using MIRA3, 26,064 unigenes were assembled from the HQ reads. To facilitate sequence assembly, short sequences (< 100 bp) were removed, leaving 25,637 unigenes with an average sequence length of 733.06 bp. This comprised 23,515 contigs and 2,122 singletons.
