Description: The little brown bat, Myotis lucifugus, is an insectivorous microbat found throughout most of North America. This species, like many other microbat species, has a highly developed echolocating neurosensory system, migrates to hibernacula, can delay fertilization, implantation, or embryogenis, and experiences drastic metabolic changes during both daily torpor and prolonged hibernation.
