Description: Chromosomes 11 and 12 of the rice (japonica cultivar-group) have been sequenced and annotated by the Rice Chromosome 11 and 12 consortium consisting of Genoscope (France), Indian Initiative for Rice Genome Sequencing (IIRGS, India), The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR), Arizona Genomics Institute, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), Plant Genome Initiative at Rutgers, Rice Genome Research Program, Japan, and University of Wisconsin. Sequencing was done using a clone-by-clone approach. Annotated chromosomes 11 and 12 were submitted to GenBank under accessions DP000010 and DP000011, respectively.
