Project name: Microviridae
Description: Description of Microviridae adapted from ICTVdb Virion Properties Morphology Virions consist of a capsid. Virus capsid is not enveloped, round with icosahedral symmetry. The isometric capsid has a diameter of 25-27 nm. The capsomer arrangement is clearly visible. The capsid consists of 12 capsomers. Surface projections are distinct knobs protruding from the 12 vertices. Capsid structures, detailed structural and computational analysis are found in the Protein Data Bank (PDB) using <a href= "http://viperdb.scripps.edu/tnumlist.php?N=all">VIPERdB, the VIrus ParticleExploreR <a href= "http://viperdb.scripps.edu/info_page.php?VDB=1gff">Bacteriophage G4. Physicochemical and Physical Properties Virions have a buoyant density in CsCl of 1.3-1.4 g cm-3. Nucleic Acid The genome is not segmented and contains a single molecule of circular, positive-sense, single-stranded DNA. The complete genome is 4400-5400 nucleotides long. Proteins The viral genome encodes structural proteins and non-structural proteins. Lipids Lipids are not reported.
