Project name: Gossypium hirsutum
Description: Gossypium hirsutum is most widely cultivated fiber crop and its economic importance makes it a suitable material for genomic studies. The study aims to mining of genomic resources like information about genes, proteins, non-coding RNA, promoters, transcription factors and molecular markers etc. from Gossypium hirsutum genome. Genic enriched genomic libraries were made from six diverse germplasm of Gossypium hirsutum , using two methylation sensitive restriction enzymes (ClaI and HpaII) individually. These libraries were sequenced on 454 GS titanium platform and approximately 5GB data was produced. The data has been mined for various resources as described above.
