Description: A characterization of sequencing bias in the Ion Torrent PGM and TorrentServer Base-calling Analysis Software, across a set of GC-spanning microbes - P. falciparum, E. coli, and R. sphaeroides, and a human sample. The data was used to determine bias in coverage and error rates for the Ion Torrent technology across different levels of GC content and across difficult motifs (homopolymers, AT-dinuc repeats, etc.). The profiles gathered were used to compare Ion Torrent sequencing to data from other technologies.
