Description: The previously reported draft genome sequence of Burkholderia thailandensis MSMB43 was found to contain many but often fragmented secondary metabolite biosynthetic genes or gene clusters. Here we report a significantly improved draft genome sequence of the same Burkholderia strain, which will facilitate our discovery of new natural products through genome mining and study of metabolic versatility of this bacterium.
