Description: The genome of Mycoplasma leachii strain 06049 was sequenced as part of the EVOLMYCO initiative funded by The French National Research Agency (ANR). This project aims to study the evolution of ruminant mycoplasmas with a special focus on horizontal gene transfer. Strain 06049 from Mycoplasma leachii was isolated in 2005 from cattle (ear swab) in Kaduna State, Zonkwa, Nigeria. Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia was suspected in the herd.
