Description: The genome of Mycoplasma alkalescens strain 14918 was sequenced as part of the EVOLMYCO initiative funded by The French National Research Agency (ANR). This project aims to study the evolution of ruminant mycoplasmas with a special focus on horizontal gene transfer. Strain 14918 from M. alkalescens was isolated in 2007 from the lung of an calf with pneumonia in Haute-Garonne, France.
