Project name: Fusarium verticillioides 7600
Description: Syngenta Biotechnology, Inc. and the Broad Institute separately sequenced the Gibberella moniliformis (aka Fusarium verticillioides) strain 7600 genome at approximately 4X coverage using whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing. The Broad Institute combined these two data sets to produce an 8X genome assembly consisting of 210 nuclear genome contigs in 36 scaffolds, and 3 mitochondrial genome contigs (release 3). Using the ESTs sequenced by the USDA/ARS and TIGR as an aid, the Broad Institute is performing automated annotation of the 8X genome assembly.
